The principles of market reforms in the agricultural sector of economy of Ukraine

Summary/Abstract: The subject of research is theoretical and applied aspects of formation and application of the principles of market reforms in the agriculturalsector of economy of Ukraine. The aim of the work is to substantiate theoretically the principles of agricultural reforms, to determine whetherit is necessary to apply them at the present stage of market reforms, to systematize them according to the certain criteria.When writing the article there were used the method of analysis and synthesis, the method of systematic approach as well as themethod of generalization.The results of the work: considered the nature and organized the principles of market reforms in the agricultural sector of economyof Ukraine, proved the need of their application at the present stage of transformation conversions.The results of the work can be used in the development of the state agricultural policy and in practical activities of stategovernment bodies.The following conclusions: strategic development of the agricultural sector of economy of Ukraine should be based on suchprinciples of market reforms of economy of Ukraine as: the principles which reflect national interests in shaping of agricultural policy;the principles that express the market development of the agricultural sector; the principles that express the changes in propertyrelations; the principles that express the democratic development of the agricultural sector; the principles that express the characterof restoration of the agricultural sector in the new environment; the principles that express the state's role in the development of theagricultural sector; the principles that express the social orientation of agricultural reforms; the principles that express foreignorientation of the agricultural sector. Compliance with above mentioned principles, in our opinion, will give us the chance to providefood security of the country, competitiveness of the agricultural sector of economy of Ukraine, sustainable rural development.
