Summary/Abstract: Information technologies as means to fight corruption have serious potential, but give rise to many challenges at the spot of which lies the dilemma: the need for continuous improvement of information technologies to improve efficiency in the fight against corruption on the one hand, and on the other – the „secret” resistance of certain social groups directly involved in corruption schemes. Information technologies (IT) can greatly assist the fight against corruption. They facilitate the exchange of information between state institutions, between government and citizens and between citizens themselves. New technologies can promote transparency, accountability and participation of citizens, and thus can initiate positive change. However, there remain many activities and spheres of public life, in need of introduction of information technologies, in order to be able to deal with challenges and accessory requirements of modern information society and cases of corruption Successful social development is related to IT. Therefore efforts of all state institutions to limit and counteract corruption depend on the level of implementation and management of IT. This closely connected bilaterally dependent relationship of IT activities on prevention and combating corruption, is the basis of social and personal prosperity.
