Summary/Abstract: This paper focuses on the problem of similarities and differences in ancient Roman and Greek mythology. During the comparative analysis of Homer and Virgil’s texts, we reconstruct the process by which Virgil (who lived during the era of Emperor Augustus’reign) developed a new instrumental myth establishing the straight and obvious way from the Gods to the “God’s favored” Imperial Rome.
