Summary/Abstract: This thesis considers strategic planning as a tool for enhancing the investment attractiveness of rural areas. It provides theoretical formulation for the investment attractiveness and outlines its constituent elements. Particular attention is paid to the strategic guidelines for development of rural municipalities in Bulgaria.
