Summary/Abstract: Children playgrounds are the first places where children experience and learn the public life at the first stage. On the other hand, children plays are cultural accumulation that is formed by social structure and environmental conditions within a long period of time. With this respect, the spatial qualities of children playgrounds are critical to sustain this cultural richness. Today, the main tendency toward design of children playground is usually ended up with a design solutions in which specific play tools and groups are installed in a confined space surrounded by a physical barrier such as wall or a fence. The local characteristics such as geographic and climatic conditions and traditional play types, are ignored and a typical playgrounds are implemented in each city with the same characteristics independent from local context.
