Summary/Abstract: The article has been touched the problem of NEETs in the EU, as a special case of unemployed young people. Presents the etymology of the concept, the probable risk factors of the phenomenon and the social costs to individual entities. Particular attention was paid to dynamically increasing economic costs generated by the NEET group. The article also included are current proposals to solve the problem of NEETs in the EU.
