Summary/Abstract: This article considers various ways of the author’s self-presentation in Russian rock poetry(Y. Dyagileva, A. Makarevich, V. Tsoi, Y. Shevchuk). The predominance of the “I–I” subject patternis revealed. It is used to express the maximum egocentrism, whereas the directive syntactical unitsimpose the author’s opinion on the recipient. The author’s “I” not only conveys the author’s standbut forms the notion of reality. The “I–I” pattern can be altered into the “I–WE” pattern (V. Tsoi). The indirect self-presentation (the “I–YOU”, “I–HE”/ “WE–THEY” patterns) appears as well.
