Summary/Abstract: The article conducts a Translation Studies analysis of simile constructions with a fauna constituent marked by Biblical symbolism. Both in Ukrainian and English such similes show isomorphic and allomorphic features, which exist between the denotative meaning of the lexemes and their connotative specificities. The above-mentioned similes are reproduced in a number of ways. It is of great importance to preserve the cultural-and-specific senses of the images and symbols in the process of translation.
