Summary/Abstract: The author analyses the circumstances and the building stages of an architectural monument from Galaţi – the Palace of Justice, built between 1912 and 1927. From an architectonic perspective, the building belongs to the Neo-Romanian style, being the creation of the illustrious Romanian architects Grigore Cerchez and Anton Vârnav. In 1975, the building became the headquarters of “Dunărea de Jos” University of Galaţi.
