Summary/Abstract: The main reason for the frequent influx of refugees to Bulgaria is rooted mostly in the unresolved national question in the Balkans. Created by the Congress of Berlin in July 1878 Principality of Bulgaria included in its borders only half of those living on the peninsula Bulgarians.
