Power and money in comedies by Branislav Nušić

Summary/Abstract: The starting points of this work are motives of power and money which are considered from the different points of view. A special attention is paid to the investigation of these motives from the angle of family changes. That is, in which way the obsession for power and money of one or more characters affects the family. The motive of death is also enquired as a consequence of the influence of external factors (the power and money) on the internal family order. In this regard, the disorder and loss of the identity of the characters will also be reconsidered, due to an unexpected and sudden shift from the ‘’normal life line’’ whose main cause is a desire for power and money.
