Summary/Abstract: The article compares the results of the election rivalry (in the years 2010 and 2014) in the three towns with districts rights of Western Pomerania (Koszalin, Szczecin and Swinoujscie). The implications of political rivalry on the structure of the local political scenes were also underlined: the attention was put on the results achieved by parliamentary committees of political parties and local committees. The analysis showed the reduction of the political parties influence on the local political scenes. In the article also pointed three key factors that determine the structure of local political scene. The first one is effectiveness of political party in the town, the second is the possibility of re-election by the mayor of town and the third – political potential of opposition groups to the ruling committee in the town.
