Summary/Abstract: Feast of Newroz is a common reflection of seasonal transition which heralds advent of Spring. It symbolises the nature’s awaking and reactivation of sleeping for whole Winter. The feast of Spring is also a rooted tradition in Turkish folk culture that has been celebrated religionally and mytically in a lot of cultures since ancient ages. Newroz also called as Yeni Gün, Ergenekon in Middle Asia is one of the mai constituents of Turkish folk culture. This study is based on pre-interview in the months of 2011 June-July and the findings I got from the field research anout Uzbeks who are settled to Ovakent neighborhood of Antakya in 1982, between the dates September 28,2011, January 08,2012, February-July 2012, March-April 2015. Besides this study is limited with Uzbeks who joined to interview in the time period mentioned above. In this study, I took advantage of qualitative research method and participant observation and profound interview techniques that support this method. In this study, It was attempted to understand that Uzbeks living in Antakya, how the feast of Newroz is celebrated, during this, which motives are reconfigured and practising Dervişhane, Uzbek rice, Sumelek dessert that are the benchmarks of this feast and the meaning patterns of them. Furthermore, the application of this feast in Turkic tribes and their communities and Afghanistan are examined.
