Summary/Abstract: The article, based on archives, memoirs and monographs,analyzed part in the Red Cossack soldiers non-Ukrainian origin. This publication reveals the reasons for the formation of the unit, shown great interest of Bolsheviks for “Cossack idea”, to show the Ukrainian people’s relationship with its national and cultural traditions and their attempts to win over. In particular by carefully conducted study issues of participation is not Ukrainian in this section. By focusing on the major stages of the formation and the reorganization of units of the Red Cossacks, and a gradual increase in its ranks members of other nations. Particular emphasis is placed on the isolation of commanders of the Red Cossacks in separate platoons, regiments and hundreds of non-Ukrainian Cossacks origin. The focus is the loss of his Ukrainian Cossacks red mono-ethnic composition and gradual transition to a multi-ethnic character formation. Also considered process of “reinforcements”, most prominent of which consisted of non-Ukrainians.
