Summary/Abstract: The aim of the following study is to discuss certain issues concerning the truth with reference to lexical nomination (through lexical units, i.e. words and word groups). The author presents the history of views on language nomination, starting with Aristotle. It is shown that Aristotle’s influence on the methodology of semantic research on natural languages eliminated the problem of truth from linguistics for next centuries. The author presents an original concept of accuracy / inaccuracy of lexical nomination and describes its different types, such as extensional and intensional inaccuracy of lexical units. The inaccuracy of lexical units in the field of lexical nomination is considered in the light of an ergonomic model of linguistic behavior, which is advocated by the author.
