Pragmatically oriented metalingual comments to the word 'pravda'

Summary/Abstract: Statements, in which the word ‘pravda’ becomes the object of speaker’s reasoning, the latter being pragmatically oriented and containing subjective evaluative component, are considered on the material of Russian and Ukrainian languages. These statements are shown to highlight the special, unique nature of the fragment of national world image. They also work for the speaker’s discourse positioning on the background of other usage practices of the word ‘pravda’ — in the speech of some social groups, personalities, in the names of books and periodicals.
