Summary/Abstract: In this text author underlined necessity of existence of an ever- lasting and continuous process of legitimization of political authority, because in one democratic society the ruling authority cannot be established on some sort of a priori secured and continuous legitimacy or so-called self-legitimization. If it is not possible, due to absence or failure of such legitimization process, there comes a legitimacy crisis which, in case of a serious deficit of this virtue of the authority, could create a situation implying not only possibility of cessation of validity of political obligation of citizens to obedience, but also a possibility that disobedience becomes civil duty. In line with this, the author’s objective in the text is to find out whether it is possible to conclude the exact point or exact level at which the legitimacy crisis calls for cessation of this political obligation. The other objective is also to find out the fields that are encompassed within this legitimization basis and that consequently need to be an object of critical analysis in time of every testing of legitimacy of certain concrete political authority.
