Summary/Abstract: Magic has been a part of Russian folk culture for centuries. Russian forefathers used to practice magic in their everyday life and some part of that traditional mystic behaviors stood the test of time and they are still in use contemporary. What’s more, even during today’s technical progress the popularity of magic gradually raises. By using many magical practices like spells, casting charms and secret predictions people make an effort to change the reality by their own will, even if it would be against common sense, nature or religious conviction. Originally the magic probably comes from Egypt or Persia and means the use of special powers to make things happen which would usually be impossible. To capture these supernatural forces people turn to unholy strength such as demons and spirits in desecrated time and space.
