CONDITION AND TRENDS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE AGRICULTURAL COOPERATIVES IN BULGARIA

Summary/Abstract: The topicality of the theme is determined by the fact that cooperatives are a special kind of economic structures, which in a market economy and a strong competitive environment, do business to meet the economic, social and cultural needs of their cooperative members. The problem of their sustainability and future development is the need for a larger number of cooperatives to develop a clear vision of the benefits of their endeavor and the opportunities to support agricultural production. The main objective of the paper is to outline trends in agricultural cooperatives and measures to minimize the risk of a decline in production activity. The tasks we have set are: to analyse the development of agricultural cooperatives; to reveal the role of the Common Agricultural Policy / CAP / for Sustainable Development of Agricultural Cooperatives in Bulgaria; to highlight funding opportunities; to otline trends in the development of agricultural cooperatives and possible measures to minimize the risks
