Summary/Abstract: Transformations, which have begun in Poland starting from 1990 year (especially the introduction of free competition on the open market), resulted in the necessity to base business activity (also within TSL sector) on the proper economical rules, which were already the standard in all Western countries, but not existing in our country before. This process took place through the inflow of the know-how, while reputable international operators started to enter the Polish market. These companies, however, faced problems with proper understanding of the specifics of this particular market and barriers, which they haven’t experienced before and which made adaptations of their existing rules, standards and procedures more difficult.
