Summary/Abstract: The article deals in general with the actual problems of language expressivity in contemporary Russian press, particularly with usage of language play in headlines. By language-play is meant a purposeful selection of such lingual instruments which should invoke nontrivial (nonstereotypical) instrument-lingual associations by the reader and attract his attention. On particular lingual material acquired by excerption of electronic medial sources are shown most typical ways of language-play on particular language levels.
