Summary/Abstract: In Bucharest, April 13, 1870, Pompiliu Eliade was born, as the son of Georges D. Eliade and Sophie Pală. He had a brother and four sisters - some of them or their families after marriages, playing a more or less important role in the Romanian cultural life. P. Eliade, after high school, attended the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy at the University of Bucharest. Then, as a fellow of the Romanian state, in autumn 1892, he was received as an intern at the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris. On February 1, 1899, in Paris, he became a doctor of letters, having as his thesis - From the French influence on the public spirit in Romania. The origins. Returning to Romania, from 1900 to 1904 he traveled throughout the university hierarchy, becoming a professor. He is the founder of the French flesh at the University of Bucharest
