Summary/Abstract: In the article the features of corruption as an institutional phenomenon and investigated its role in the economic security of the state. Attention is paid to the consequences of its manifestation in society. The subject of research is theoretical and practical principles of forming and implementing policy against corruption in the system of economic security. The study is theoretical and methodological research in anti-corruption policy of generalization and systematization of theoretical propositions, as a component of economic security, development and economic improvement of practical measures to ensure the fight against corruption and reducing its level in Ukraine. The paper used the methods of systematic and comprehensive approach, as well as traditional methods of scientific knowledge of economic phenomena and processes, such as comparison of theoretical generalization, analysis, synthesis, systematization. The information base of research is legal and normative acts of the Supreme Rada of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, aimed at combating corruption, the World Bank statistical data, analysis of research institutions of Ukraine. The work was clarification categorial-conceptual apparatus and justification of the concept combating institutional corruption as a threat to economic security. These results can be used for substantiation of programs of economic security. Consequently, institutional corruption at present is one of the major threats to the economic security of the state, creating extremely high transaction costs, which results in restraining the normal pace of economic development.
