Summary/Abstract: The analysis of the components of employment of the population of Ukraine by sector and by groups of employers – businesses is given. The tendency of the informal sector dominance in shaping the overall rate of employment in Ukraine (compared to large, medium and small enterprises and individual businessmen) in recent years was identified. The structural features of employment in the agricultural segment of the informal sector of economy, special emphases are on domestic specifics of its structure and employment therein are analyzed.The importance of special treatment of state policy on the development and transformation of the informal sector in agricultural production with taking into account the best domestic and foreign experience and the relevant recommendations of the ILO are emphasized.
