Summary/Abstract: The article presents a study of mass Christian artefacts meant for personal use, such as next-to-skin crosses and scapular pendants, as well as a study of the specific techniques applied in the Early Russian jewelry manufacturing in 11th—13th centuries). The author examined methods of production and processing of articles manufactured for customers, involving complex jewelry techniques. She also evaluated modelling technologies. Research methods included a comparative and visual analysis of materials, metal analysis and trace evidence. Archetypes or prototypes among the finest articles were identified for almost every examined item.
