Summary/Abstract: The article presents new and yet unfamiliar data about the Soko fortress under the Otto14 Österreichisches Staatsarchiv, Haus-, Hof- und Staatsarchiv, Türkei I 121, Konv. 1, fol. 3r. Molba (supplica) je bez datuma, a uvrštena je među dokumente iz januara 1649. godine. man rule. These data come from the narration of Kasim from Modriča, the deserter, also known under the name of Ferdinand Pavao Sokolović. The narration was recorded by a Habsburg diplomat Johann Rudolf Schmid zum Schwarzenhorn in the mid-17th century. Particularly interesting is the part in which Kasim mentions his own Christian ancestor “from the lineage of Mladen” who was a “commander of the Soko fortress, and then he became a Turk” surrendering the fortress to the Ottomans. By quoting a direct source, the author gives a detailed historical overview, concluding that the aforementioned quotation should not be taken without a delayed action, but it should not be rejected, at least until first class data are not found and confirmed or disputed.
