Summary/Abstract: Ion Vidu, one of the most famous Romanian composers from Banat, composed a type of choral sacred music remarkable by a simplicity that denotes, at a second glance, not a limitation of its compositional capabilities but a real desire to connect them to the authentic aesthetic values of Orthodox music. The present study proposes a journey into the universe of Vidu's aesthetic concepts, viewed from the forefront of his efforts to create a music that corresponds to the real needs of the common liturgical song.
