Summary/Abstract: Intelligentsia as a part of the country’s population was distrusted and even – in a way – feared of by the Soviet elite. This is quite distinctly revealed in the cinema of 1930-s — the beginning of the 1950-s. It is known that the educational and cultural levels of the party and Soviet elite was low. It is no wonder that simple and clear forms, without delicacy, implications and antinomy were encouraged in the field of art. The refined learning, intellectual gloss and esthetic grace had a suspicious smack of the alien and even hostile. An intelligentsia member with his ineradicable reflection was convenient as an object on which class intuition could be checked.
