Summary/Abstract: Qing Zhu and Zhao Yuan Ren created in the 1920th the Chinese art song on the basis of creative reconsideration of traditions of the German Kunstlied. It has got recognition as a national genre in musical culture of the latest China. The representative of the next stage in the history of the genre ( the 1930th years) is Huang Zi who, in development of Zhao Yuan Ren’s tradition, used the lyrics of modern poets. Historical value of Huang Zi’s works is determined by fact that he was a founder of a romantic vocal cycle in the Chinese music of the XX century (a cycle of the Chinese art songs). A vocal cycle of Huang Zi "Three Desires of a Rose" (1932), created on the poems of modern poets – Wei Hanchang and Long Chi, showed the characteristic processes of the traditions’ interactions in Chinese art of the XX century. They led to the Chinese classical poetry and the innovations which are out of national culture. The selected poems by Huang Zi contain a lot of connections with the traditional classical Chinese poetry based on idea of eternal return. The idea of eternal return is embodied in the vocal cycle "Three Desires of a Rose" by interacted between each other themes, images and symbols which have been created during "Seven Golden Ages" in the history of the Chinese poetry. Specifics of manifestation of a priority of individual in a vocal cycle Huang Zi include the tradition of the German Kunstlied. In the poetic texts which are the basis for songs a system of the interconnected symbols which is characteristic for classical Chinese poetry appears, the musical dramatic art of a vocal cycle contains system of the intonations of the European-Romantic origins.
