Summary/Abstract: The paper aims at elaborating the ideal typical patterns of political culture in Europe based on a survey made with young people (between 16–26 years) from 14 countries (N =18,000). Also the distribution of these patterns within each country and varying economic situations is analyzed. Firstly, the variables used in the analysis of political culture are introduced briefly. Secondly, a cluster analysis of political indifference, radicalism, political values, emotions and interactions is elaborated on European level, which analysis is aimed at elaborating the ideal-typical patterns of political culture. In the third section the state and the potential of radicalization are mapped in the various European countries by analyzing the different patterns of political culture. With the help of these analyses a diagnosis and prognosis of radicalization in each analyzed country and in Europe as well can be elaborated.
