Summary/Abstract: The team of Arab states located around the Persian Gulf includes, above all, SaudiArabia and a group of incomparably small states. One of them is Qatar, which for manyyears has been conducting a relatively independent foreign policy and a well-thought-outinvestment strategy. This is what caused Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE and Bahrain toimpose economic and political sanctions. The official reason for these sanctions was toaccuse Qatar of funding the terrorist groups. The accusation was definitely rejected bythe Qatar emir. However, at the beginning of June, the state was isolated from itsneighbors. However, this blockade proved to be ineffective, as the goods needed by Qatarwere brought by sea through the port of Sohar in Oman and by planes from Iran, Turkeyand China. Economic sanctions did not bring the expected results and did not contributeto the deterioration of the Qatari people's living standards. However, they have led to aradical change in the geographical structure of its foreign trade and closer cooperation ofQatar with Iran and Turkey
