Summary/Abstract: The article presents research that deals with the reception of the work of the German writer, Ricarda Huch, in Germany in 2014 during the jubilee commemorating the 150th anniversary of her birth. A renaissance of Huch’s life and work developed during the jubilee year. This renaissance reception is examined in the following categories: conferences and symposiums, lectures, exhibitions of the visual arts, official ceremonies in Thuringia, website created and dedicated to the author’s life, work, and her work’s reception, publications that mark the scientific culmination of the jubilee year. The result of the many scientific, social, and political initiatives addressed during the year to the various levels and classes of society have shown that the writing of Ricarda Huch is able to inspire the contemporary German reader. In 2017 during the 70th anniversary of the writer’s death, a second renaissance is anticipated. Additionally, 2017 marks the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, and Huch makes reference to Martin Luther in her religious and worldview treaties.
