Summary/Abstract: Having been brought up in a country where landscape architecture was highly appreciated, British-born Queen Marie of Romania manifested a special interest in gardens and gardening, which is proven by the numerous publications on this subject found in the private libraries of the Romanian Royal family. Moreover, the Queen played an important role in the designing and laying out of the parks and gardens of the Romanian royal residences in Bucharest, Sinaia, Bran, Peleş, for which she collaborated with famous landscape architects of the time, one of them being the German Fritz Rebhuhn.
