Summary/Abstract: The variety and depth of information plays a huge role on decision making processes especially when it comes to business management. It has a great importance on operations of strategic meaning as well as on the level of decision-making during the operation itself. Skillful use of gathered information and strategic management can bring measurable benefits in the range of financial outcome and profits to the company. The thesis attempts to define the term of business information and compares it with practical utilization. The thesis describes the role of information used in business, concentrates on the information management and shows the possibilities of practical use of information in the process of running a company. As an example the author uses Realbud Ltd. – a company of average size, specialised in a construction sector wholesale. Actions taken by the management of the company (Realbud Ltd.) are determined by business information collected from the local market, what is reflected in the financial results of the company as well as its position on the market of construction commerce in West Pomeranian province. The collected information and its interpretation plays a crucial role in management’s ownereness of the necessity to judge the value of those informations and timing. Additionally, this article elaborates on the practical outlook of highly experienced employees in gathering and analyzing business data and information from many various sources.
