Summary/Abstract: In the article follows the process of creation of the mass concert act under the conditions of emerging revolutionary and civil holidays in the open air in the period of the French Revolution (1789–1800). The author revives the picture of expansion of a professional music life into the general layers of society. The process of establishing the new mass genres, as well as making them professional is being reviewed, together with the changes in the core of making music and the birth of a new performer and audience – a free citizen.
