Summary/Abstract: The article presents a holistic approach to the exploration of the languages development and the mechanism of their change. Synchronic and diachronic axes are taken into consideration. Bionic perspective is the alternative to a highly abstract conception of Chomsky and his followers. Both, the internal linguistic changes (development of languages, change in their grammatical and phonetic structure etc.) and the results of language contacts (creation of new codes, super-stratum and substratum influences etc.) are analysed.
