ARMAMENT CONTROL - BETWEEN DIPLOMATIC HORIZONS AND POWER REALITY

Summary/Abstract: Recent events have shown that the desire to be a leader knows no limits. Power is more corrupt than ever, and winning a war, without scattering human, material and financial resources, becomes a priority. Under these conditions, possession of the most modern armaments remains a parameter as important as economic power or geostrategic position. Diplomacy, despite the distortions that some countries have made, remains the only means by which a common basis for debate can be established between states to control the massive destruction power that people have created both for the benefit and to their detriment - armaments.
