Summary/Abstract: The article’s goal is to verify the assumption of declining influence of currency rate changes on selected countries’ merchandise export value. Statistical data from period 1995-2016 published by UNCTAD, OECD, World Bank and BIS have been utilized. In research selected descriptive statistical methods (i.e. composition, trend and dynamics analyses) have been used, as well as the merchandise trade specialization index. Conducted research has brought the main conclusion that in 1995-2016 merchandise export value of the countries under scrutiny did not follow neither NEER nor REER changes expected in theory.
