Summary/Abstract: The lists of reasons for refusal of recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards contained in different legal documents regulating this subject matter are almost identical. Each of them includes those grounds that could be seen as a threshold criteria for an arbitral award to become an integral part of the internal legal order. Although all of the grounds are prima faciae equally important, each of them is specific in numerous respects related to practical application. It’s just these peculiarities that this paper deals with, representing the expression of author’s endeavors to reflect on each of the grounds for refusal through the detailed analysis of existing arbitral practice, and to point out their real significance in international commercial arbitration.
