Summary/Abstract: Multicultural kindergarten is an institution of upbringing and caring for children aged 3–6, representing the first step in a uniform school system, focusing on its area children, who are representing different cultural groups. In turn, the multicultural school is an educational institution dedicated to the education and upbringing of children, youth and adults, according to the adopted in a given society goals and objectives and the concept of educational centers and programs, focusing on its area students, who are representing different cultural groups. Assumptions, goals and objectives pursued by promoting multiculturalism and gathering in one place the children from different cultures are worthy of attention and praise. Such a school or kindergarten, in which there are representatives of the culture which is different from the dominant, should be treated as a multicultural institution, although does not have such a name. This article presents a multicultural educational institutions (kindergartens, schools) that have appeared in recent years, in response to a sharp increase of foreign students in Cracow. It should be added that the effective core curriculum requires all kindergartens and schools to include the teaching content related to national minorities and cultural diversity.
