Zarządzanie bezpieczeństwem produktów kosmetycznych w świetle nowych przepisów unijnych
Safety Management of Cosmetic Products in the Aspect of New Community legislation

Summary/Abstract: The article presents a new approach to the problem of safety of cosmetic products which must be considered due to a new Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 Of The European Parliament And Of The Council. The Regulation, that is expected to be introduced in July 2013, is going to widen the range of duties for producers, importers and distributors of the cosmetics. The article exploits the most important threats connected with production, turnover and application of cosmetics, with emphasis on the influence of chemical composition and microbiological purity on the safety of cosmetics. The new legislative regulations concerning the prevention of the threats and the standards related to quality management of cosmetics have been extensively discussed. Many details of the new Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 have been compared to current Polish regulations, and the practical consequences of the forthcoming law changes for the safety of consumers, as well as for cosmetic business in Poland have been estimated.
