Summary/Abstract: Being the peak of Late Bronze Age on the territory of Romania, ceramics but especially the small sculpture of the culture Gârla Mare-Cârna (Cultura Câmpurilor de urne – The Culture of Fields of urns) represents a proof of the level reached by the creative activity of the human beings of those times. In a time in which small sculpture was a less represented field, in the context of diminishing the importance of the old cult of fecundity and fertility, the statuettes of the culture that we study here prove once again that aesthetic taste did not diminish, regarding elegant and geometrically stylized forms, and also the connection with the ornamental motifs which describe, like in no other culture, details of our folk costume. A great variety of forms and dimensions can also be found in this slender pottery, of great clarity and variety of execution.
