Abstract control as the way of protection of numerous subjects

Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the procedure on abstract control in consumer matters due to Civil contentious code. This procedure is new in Slovak civil procedure and his goal is to protect more subjects in one procedure. The procedure can then have a wider impact, including consumers and the protection may be more effective. The legal process can thus fulfill a significant social function consisting of eliminating litigation and providing more effective judicial protection. The author compares the procedure with previous legislation and consumer protection options before 1.7.2016. She also highlights the application pitfalls and considers the extent to which the incorporation of this procedure into the Civil Contentious Code is beneficial.
