The State and the Political

Summary/Abstract: Schmitt's thinking on the notion of the political can be understood through an analysis of the tradition of the German political thinking, in the context of the priority of the political in the constitution of human life (its constant presence in the world history) and through an inference on the end of statehood in the modern age. Within this triple determination Schmitt’s- basic question is: How can we determine the political at the time of the disappearance of the state as the only bearer of the political?
