Summary/Abstract: A most valuable part of the stock of photographs of the National Széchényi Library (NSZL) is constituted by the TransylvanianCollection, which has become available for research recently. The study off ers an insight into this work. It must be emphasizedthat research is at an initial stage and the presentation of the collection at conferences and in studies is aimed to enhancerelevant knowledge and to fi nd research partners both in Hungary and in Transylvania in order to produce a larger scale study.
