Summary/Abstract: We urge Eastern European States which are Member States of the European Union (i.e. Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia) to work closely along with other geographical groups and the huge network of 2,000 CSOs, cities and public institutions supporting the progressive development of the human right to peace. This world alliance will enable the international community to achieve broad consensus on the content and scope of the human right to peace. The future declaration, to be adopted by the General Assembly by the end of 2014, will allow States and other international actors to unlearn war and to rebuild international relations on the assumption of the universal and superior value of peace.
