Summary/Abstract: This article is an attempt to assess the permissibility of humanitarian intervention from a Kantian point of view. I argue that humanitarian intervention is consistent with Kant’s political and moral writings under two conditions: 1) interventions that are mandated by the UN Security Council; 2) when the atrocities perpetrated by the target state are unacceptable by all accounts.
