Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with the distributive and functional characteristics of the Pluperfect in the narrative discourse of the Standard Serbian language. In focus are coordinate copulative and coordinate adversative sentences in which Pluperfect has a predicate function. Special attention is devoted to the uses of tenses and Aktionsart in coordinate sentences. The author analyses the functions of the Pluperfect in this type of sentences as well as some of the regularities that can be considered as a feature of coordinate structures.
