Summary/Abstract: The need of in-depth analysis and evaluation of the individual anatomic-physiologic characteristics of any different student, in the process of his or her violin playing position, requires the acquisition and maintenance of a solid theoretical basis by the violin tutor. In order to find correct practical solutions in this incredibly complex process, the tutor must be familiar and be guided by the main principles of beginning violin playing position – like the principles of naturalness, efficacy, rationale and perspective. Applying these fundamental theoretical principles is connected to another two tenets that are specific to music instruction specifics – namely, gradualness and visibility in building primary violin playing position. This study is dedicated to the essential disclosure of these two methodical principles, and the tutor’s role in their application.
