Importance of Historic Dance in Stage Art and Its Rôle in Vocational Training

Summary/Abstract: Historical dance is a unique type of the art of choreography, reflecting the style of dance in different epochs. It preserves in contemporary visual art images and pictures of the dance culture in the past. Historical dance illustrates the most characteristic art images of the household choreography performed by different social castes. In parts of its fundamental structure, historical dance carries elements from the folklore/village dances and has played a fundamental rôle in the development of professional ballet. The technology behind historical dance has elevated many of the elements of choreography that are present even today in the classical ballet vocabulary.
